Maharashtra government hikes VAT on petrol

The people of Maharastra have to pay Rs. 1.50 additional as a value added tax for petrol. This price increase by the government will reap a revenue of Rs. 600 crores in addition. There has been a recent increase in use of the petrol vehicles in the city.

The government did not change the price of diesel having the fact in mind that people would start filling their fuel tanks in the adjacent states which would cause a immense loss to the government. The petrol prices have reached a price which was in June (higher petrol prices were recorded in the month of June) by the addition of this value added tax.

The middle class family find it difficult to manage their expenses due to constant increase in the prices and additional taxes which is being imposed on them from time to time.
